Tutorial #0: Preliminary and System Setup

(1) Download and install Xilinx ISE WebPACK v.10.1

Open your web browser and go to the website http://www.xilinx.com --> Click on 'Products & Services' --> Click on 'Design Tools' --> Click on 'ISE WebPACK Software' --> Click on 'Download ISE WebPACK software for Windows and Linux' --> Sign in to Xilinx (you need to create your own Xilinx account before signing in) --> (please follow the instructions as shown on the web pages) --> Download the file (47.6 MB)

Note that installing Xilinx ISE software can take more than three hours.

(2) Download and install ModelSim Xilinx Edition-III (MXE-III) v.6.3

Open your web browser and go to the website http://www.xilinx.com --> Click on 'Products & Services' --> Click on 'Design Tools' --> Click on 'ModelSim Xilinx Edition-III (MXE-III)' --> Click on 'Download MXE-III' --> (please follow the instructions as shown on the web pages) --> Download the file (201 MB)
